Thank you thank you for taking these photos! I noticed Reams was on its way out--I'm glad to have some kind of memento. (+gorgeous technicolor advertising? I'm going to miss that place.)
Excellent! Sooo glad he took those. The thought of snapping a shot of that classic sign, etc actually flew through my mind as a flew by that place a few days ago... but then it flew right on through my brain and out to "never-never remember land"! A land that gets more and more full as i get older... :)
Hey, I wish we'd taken photos of the 'turtle'/ ex-skate rink before it was torn down... remember what fun it was to get ice cream there when you were little?
Yes, I remember the big wrangler jeans, and ice cream cones when Haycocks came, and Mom telling me it was a skating rink, and actually I remember that Turtle Reams was even still there when I was in High School! We did a photo scavenger hunt, and went to the Turtle Reams for a shot of a man in cowboy hat!
But there is a giant student housing complex there now. (It was there when you all were in Provo last, right?)
This little Center Street Reams has been a go-to place for produce since we've lived closer to it... I actually always loved the hand-lettered butcher paper signs that they'd put behind the chicken wire, and was sad we didn't get some pics of those too...
... That'll be the day - ay - ay ... Both Ben AND Papá - (against their religion)
Kurt - For some reason I'm just now vaguely remembering greeting YOU one time near the bananas (wonderful produce) in the 'Turtle' long ago, when B & O were still at PHS! ? - Yes! Wranglers as long as their flag pole was high... and equally as WIDE! Where else in the world can you get your flat of strawberries, freshly popped popcorn, and western wear all under one roof??
But I'm already missing this other little Center St GEM... Missing everything except the complete MAZE to the check stand, that is!

Thanks for the Ream'sembering Ben.
Cherie, I miss the big turtle AND the giant pair of hanging Wrangler jeans inside.
Reams gone? So sad. I used to ice skate in that turtle. Am I old?
Fun photos, Ben. Sad day. Ben and I use to get hotdogs and slush puppies when we went shopping with our mom.
Wow. Sad. Great shots.

Ooops. That big long comment wasn't Ben, it is me Olivia. Let's all cross our fingers for the day Ben comments on my blog. :)

I spent many hours pushing four kids around Reams. Good ice cream, great produce, and cool graphics captured by Ben ( Thank you).
I am SO mourning the loss of my favorite hole-in-the-wall, closest-to-me grocery store, best-priced-produce-in-Provo, EVER.
RIP, Reams. You will be missed.
